Osteitis Pubis is a noninfectious inflammation of the pubis symphasis causing varying degrees of lower abdominal and pelvic pain, although it is different to a groin strain it has often been mistaken over the years for this. This condition typically affects footballers, runners and other athletes, although it can also be common in pregnancy and post-natal women.

Last year we had a footballer (Toby) start Studio Pilates once a week as part of his training regime, after an initial assessment we progressed into a program of core stabilisation and strengthening, stretching tight muscles and strengthening weaker regions. This has proven to be very successful. Previously our client was receiving two to three injections in his groin each year to manage the Osteitis Pubis symptoms, and hadn't played a full game of football in 5 years. However last year, with the help of his Studio Pilates program and a lot of effort on the part of the client he had his best season of football, playing almost every game and winning the clubs best and fairest. Toby was kind enough to write us a testimonial which we have published on this website at Toby's Testimonial.
